Visa waiver program extended through June 2018 for French, UK, German, Spanish, and Italian citizens

Warning

Event

On June 3, the Vietnamese government extended the current visa waiver program for one additional year. Business travelers and tourists from France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Italy will thus be able to continue traveling to Vietnam without a visa for stays up to 15 days through June 30, 2018. Eligible travelers must have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Vietnamese territory and be in possession of onward or return tickets.

A visa is required for stays over 15 days (or 16 nights), in which case passports must be valid one month from the proposed return date.

Context

Over 40,000 business travelers from the five above-mentioned Western European countries traveled to Vietnam in the first five months of 2017.

Advice
