Caribbean: Possible tropical storm forming
Tropical storm forming off Nicaraguan coast; heavy rain expected for eastern Nicaragua and Honduras in coming days

According to the US-based National Hurricane Center, a low-pressure system located in the southwestern Caribbean is expected to form into a tropical depression on Wednesday, October 4. The system is currently moving in a northwesterly direction towards Nicaragua and is expected to pass over or near eastern Nicaragua and Honduras on Thursday. Heavy rains with the potential to cause flooding and landslides are expected in these areas.
The storm is currently forecast to continue moving north, potentially affecting Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula and western Cuba in the coming days.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season officially runs from June 1 to November 30, with a peak of storms typically observed in late August and September.
