Kosovo: Serbian politician arrested in North Mitrovica March 26
Authorities arrest head of Serbian Office for Kosovo and Metohija in North Mitrovica on March 26; protests likely to continue in northern cities

Kosovar authorities arrested Marko Đurić, director of Serbia's Office for Kosovo and Metohija, on Monday, March 26, for alleged illegal entry into the country. Kosovar officials had previously banned Serbian officials from entering the country, and warned that they would be arrested upon arrival. The arrest occurred in North Mitrovica (Mitrovica district). Significant protests occurred near Mitrovica Courthouse after the arrest.
