Continued protests expected in Tbilisi May 14; localized traffic disruptions possible

Following anti-drug raids at two nightclubs in Tbilsi overnight Friday, May 11, to Saturday, May 12, protests erupted in front of the Parliament building on Saturday. On Sunday, protests continued, calling for the Interior Minister's resignation; hundreds of far-right counter-protesters also demonstrated, leading to tensions between the two protesting groups.
Demonstrations are expected to continue on Monday, May 14, as protesters have erected tents. An increased security presence in the vicinity of the protests, along with associated transportation disruptions, are possible.
