Tunisia: Bombing in Tunis October 29

Event

An explosion, ostensibly a suicide bombing, was perpetrated on the afternoon of Monday, October 29 (local time), in central Tunis, on Habib Bourguiba Avenue near the El Hana hotel. At least two people have been injured and the attacker reportedly died in the explosion. Further details are emerging.

The explosion took place minutes after the end of a protest for Aymen Othmani, a 19-year old killed in a police raid in Sidi Hassine Sijoumi on October 24. Clashes had erupted between protesters and police during previous demonstrations.
