UK: London Tube disrupted October 31
Traffic suspended on numerous Tube lines in London on October 31; commuters seek alternative means of transport
Event
London Tube (Underground) operations are severely disrupted as of the morning of Wednesday, October 31 (local time), due to numerous signal failures. Circulation has been suspended on the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines between Baker Street and Hammersmith; the Metropolitan line has been suspended between Baker Street and Aldgate; the District line has been suspended between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road. Heavy delays are reported along the rest of these four lines.
Transport for London has announced that Tube tickets would be accepted on local buses.
Advice
Individuals are advised to take alternative means of transportation, allow for extra time to reach their destinations, and anticipate overcrowding on operational public transportation (buses, other Tube lines).
