France: WWII bomb disposal to cause rail disruptions in Paris Feb. 17

Authorities will conduct a controlled detonation of an unexploded WWII bomb in northern Paris on Sunday, February 17, disrupting rail services in the area from 09:00 to 15:00 (local time). The bomb was discovered in the Porte de la Chapelle neighborhood, near Gare du Nord train station. Eurostar trains serving areas north of Paris, including Lille and Calais, rail services to Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), and other metropolitan rail routes will be affected. Authorities will also close roads nearby, including the A1 motorway and Boulevard Ney and Boulevard Périphérique from Porte de Clignancourt to Porte d'Aubervilliers. Residents and businesses in Porte de la Chapelle are under evacuation orders beginning at 08:30.
