Israeli troops clashed with Palestinians in the Qalandiyah refugee camp near East Jerusalem (West Bank), on Tuesday, April 2, causing the death of one Palestinian and wounding three others. The event reportedly took place when a group of Palestinians threw stones and Molotov cocktails at Israeli forces conducting arrest raids in the area and, whereby they responded with live fire. Further clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces are possible in and near Jerusalem over the coming days.

Context

Israeli forces said they arrested 12 people suspected of involvement in terror activities during the scan of the area.

Clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces are not uncommon in the West Bank.
