A 5.4-magnitude earthquake strikes Hokkaido on April 28; no immediate reports of damages

A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck approximately 46 km (28 mi) east-northeast of Shizunai district (Hokkaido) on the early morning (local time) of Sunday, April 28. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the quake occurred at a depth of 121 km (75 mi). No damages have immediately been reported. Aftershocks are possible in the coming hours and days.
