Côte d'Ivoire: Violent clashes reported in Béoumi May 15

Violent clashes have been reported in Béoumi (Vallée du Bandama district) on Wednesday, May 15. Local reports claim fighting broke out between two groups of moto-taxi drivers which resulted in property destruction as the groups set fire to several shops. Police and gendarmes reinforcements deployed to the area subsequently dispersed the crowds; however, tensions remain high. 

A heightened security presence and localized traffic disruptions are likely near any demonstrations. Further clashes are possible over the coming hours and days.
