A 5.0-magnitude earthquake shook buildings in Tokyo on Saturday, May 25. The earthquake, which struck at approximately 15:20 (local time) and was centered 10 km (6 mi) northwest of Ohara (Chiba prefecture), did not trigger a tsunami warning; no damages or casualties were immediately reported.

Aftershocks are possible in the region over the coming hours and days.

Individuals in the affected area are advised to be prepared for aftershocks and adhere to instructions issued by local authorities. In the event of aftershocks, individuals are advised to protect themselves from falling debris if indoors, to move away from windows, and not attempt to leave the building unless there is an immediate danger. If outdoors, move away from tall buildings, utility wires, and streetlights.
