Event

Israeli jets conducted retaliatory airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on the morning (local time) of Thursday, June 13, following a cross-border rocket attack. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), an underground Hamas compound in southern Gaza was destroyed in the strike. The retaliatory airstrike was carried out after a rocket was fired from Gaza into the Eshkol Regional Council at approximately 00:10, where it was successfully intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. Further Gazan missile launches targeting Israel are possible over the coming hours, as well as Israeli military reprisals on suspected Gazan militant installations.
