Indonesia: Moderate earthquake hits near Flores, Timor June 17
US geological agency records 5.5-magnitude earthquake on June 17 in the Savu Sea, between Flores and Timor; no tsunami warning issued

The US Geological Survey recorded a 5.5-magnitude earthquake around 13:43 (local time) on Monday, June 17, in the Savu Sea, just south of the island of Flores (East Nusa Tenggara province). The quake had an epicenter 109 km (67 mi) deep and was located 43 km (27 mi) southeast of Tabana (Flores) and 160 km (100 mi) north-northwest of Kupang on Timor island (East Nusa Tenggara province). No casualties or damage reports were available as of 14:15 on Monday. No tsunami warnings were issued.
