Zimbabwe: MDC plans demonstration in Harare August 16

The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) opposition party has called a mass demonstration in Harare on Friday, August 16, to denounce the perceived corruption of government, as well as high unemployment rates, and a deteriorating economy. Times and locations of the protest were not immediately reported, although protesters are expected to march across the city.

A heightened security presence along with traffic disruptions are to be expected along the march route.
