The first blast occurred at 07:30 (local time) in the Igasan area, near a security vehicle. The second explosion took place at 08:30 while security forces were at the scene.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, although officials suspect Abu Sayyaf carried out the attack. A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are to be expected in the area over the coming hours.
