Jordan: Gas explosion causes disruption in Amman August 28

Event

A gas cylinder explosion, which was reported on Wednesday, August 28, in Amman at 06:30 (local time), has caused significant disruption in the vicinity of Rainbow Street. Authorities have indicated that the explosion was as a result of a gas leak. Police have cordoned off the area and are redirecting traffic. Significant transportation disruptions have been reported.

A heightened security presence, commercial disruptions, and associated transportation disruptions are to be expected in the vicinity of the explosion until the scene has been cleared.
