Australia: Severe weather forecast in Victoria and South Australia September 19

The Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) issued severe weather warnings for Victoria and South Australia states at 11:17 (local time) on Thursday, September 19, forecasting damaging winds and flooding. Damaging winds with peak gusts of around 90 kph (60 mph) are expected to affect individuals in western and central Victoria, including Hamilton, Warrnambool, Portland, Kyneton, Ballarat, and Daylesford. A final flood warning is also in place as of 09:40 for the Latrobe River in Victoria. Strong winds averaging between 50-70 kph (31-43 mph) are also forecast to affect individuals in central and eastern South Australia state through Friday, September 20. Affected areas may include Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Mount Gambier, Coober Pedy, and Roxby Downs.

Associated power outages and disruptions to transportation and business services are possible in areas forecast to be affected by the severe weather.
