Several bus companies have called for a demonstration in Jerusalem on October 16; heightened security and associated traffic disruptions expected

Warning

Event

Representatives of Israel's nine public transportation bus providers have called for a convoy protest in Jerusalem on Wednesday, October 16, in response to the government's recently announced budgetary cuts. Approximately 40 buses are expected to gather at Shapirim Junction and travel via Route 1 to Jerusalem's government offices, before returning to Shapirim Junction. Participants plan to protest in the morning (local time), but organizers did not immediately announce an exact meeting time.

A heightened security presence and localized traffic, as well as increased demand for alternative means of transport, are expected in Jerusalem.

Advice

Individuals in Jerusalem are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate increased traffic and demand for alternative transport, and adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
