Flooding reported in West Aceh district (Aceh Darussalam province) following heavy rains October 25; transportation disruptions expected

As of Friday, October 25, the West Disaster Mitigation Office (WDMO) reported that at least 1067 people have been affected by heavy rain and associated flooding in West Aceh district (Aceh Darussalam province), where floods of 0.5 m (1.6 ft) were recorded in 14 villages.
Rainfall is forecast to continue at least through Sunday, October 27. Transportation disruptions along with possible flash floods and landslides are expected in the coming hours and days.
