A series of aftershocks, including a 6.1-magnitude quake, have been reported on Mindanao island as of 11:55 (local time) on Tuesday, October 29, following an earlier 6.6-magnitude earthquake. The initial earthquake occurred northeast of Tulunan (Cotabato), with Intensity VII (destructive) shaking felt in Tulunan, Makilala, Kidapawan City, Malungon, and Sarangani. Intensity VI (very strong) shaking was reported in Davao City, Koronadal City, and Cagayan de Oro City. No tsunami warnings have been issued but official expect damages in the region. Classes were suspended in several areas on Tuesday as a precaution.

Details regarding the extent of the damage are still emerging. The municipal hall in Tulunan was reportedly destroyed and injuries have been reported. Further aftershocks are expected in the coming hours and days.
