Anti-LGBT groups to protest film screenings in Tbilisi and Batumi November 8-10; heightened security presence and localized disruptions expected

Various anti-LGBT groups reportedly plan to demonstrate in protest of upcoming screenings of the film "And Then We Danced" in Tbilisi and Batumi from Friday, November 8, to Sunday, November 10. Protesters may reportedly gather at 16:00 (local time) on Friday in Vera Park in Tbilisi before staging demonstrations outside of the Amirani and Galleria cinemas. Additional protest activity is possible over the weekend at other screening locations, including Cinema Apollo in Batumi and Saburtalo Mall, Tbilisi Mall, and East Point Mall in Tbilisi.

A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected the vicinity of any protest. A heightened security presence is possible at screenings of "And Then We Danced" throughout the weekend.
