The Electoral Court of Uruguay announced on Sunday, December 1, that the Luis Lacalle Pou of the National Party has won the election, with Beatriz Argimon as Vice President. Lacalle brought in 48.87 percent of the vote, whereas the incumbent party Frente Amplio and Daniel Martinez brought in 47.35 percent. Lacalle will begin his mandate on Sunday, March 1, 2020. The results follow a second-round face off that took place on Sunday, November 24.
