As of Wednesday evening (local time), December 18, local sources have warned of a continuing threat that an attack targeting coalition and international community base locations in Kabul may be imminent. Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) have reportedly arrested two Haqqani Network (Taliban) militants in recent days, one of whom was an improvised explosive device (IED) manufacturer.

A heightened security presence is to be expected in Kabul over the coming days.
