The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a 6.2-magnitude earthquake 111 km (69 mi) north-northeast of Kemeduran (East Java province) at approximately 01:12 (local time) on Thursday, February 6. The quake struck at a depth of 592 km (368 mi). There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages. No tsunami warnings were immediately issued.
Aftershocks are possible in the affected area over the coming hours and days.
