Philippines: 6.1-magnitude earthquake strikes off the southern coast of Mindanao March 26

On Thursday, March 26, the US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a 6.1-magnitude earthquake approximately 8 km (5 mi) southwest of Baliton on the island of Mindanao. According to initial readings, the quake struck at around 23:38 (local time) at a depth of 54 km (33 mi). There were no immediate reports of damages, and no tsunami warning was immediately issued.

Aftershocks are possible over the coming hours and days.
