The US Geological Survey (USGS) recorded a 6.4-magnitude earthquake that struck 134km (83 miles) north-northeast of Tobelo (North Maluku) on Thursday, June 4. The quake reportedly occurred at 17:49 (local time) at a depth of 107km (66 mi). No damages or associated disruptions were immediately reported in the area. No tsunami warnings have been issued.

Aftershocks are possible in the affected area over the coming hours and days.
