Warning

Event

Activists from the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (KAMI) plan to gather in Bandung (West Java province) on Monday, September 7. The demonstrators plan to gather outside the Gedung Sate building to demonstrate over alleged undemocratic and ineffective government policies. Public health officials banned the event from taking place at the Grand Pasundan Hotel due to public health concerns and it is unclear if the new venue for the demonstration has been authorized.

The event is expected to be well attended and clashes between protesters and security forces or counter-protesters cannot be ruled out. Localized overland disruption is expected in the vicinity of the demonstration.

Those in Bandung are advised to monitor developments to the situation, avoid all demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
