A heightened security presence is to be expected in the vicinity of large-scale election-related events and around polling stations on election day. Clashes between rival political party supporters at gatherings cannot be ruled out. Commercial and transportation disruptions are anticipated nationwide on polling day.

Sixteen political parties will compete for the 120 seats in the Supreme Council. The party currently holding the most seats in parliament, the Social Democratic Party (SDPK), will not contest the elections following internal disagreements.
Advice
Those in Kyrgyzstan are advised to monitor developments and remain apprised of the political situation, avoid public demonstrations and political gatherings as a precaution, avoid discussing politically sensitive topics in public, and obey all instructions issued by the local authorities.
