Italy: Demonstrators to gather in Rome on October 5

A climate protest is scheduled to take place in Rome on Monday, October 5. The demonstration has been organized by the Extinction Rebellion (XR) activist group to call for more serious measures on environmental issues. The protest is set to take place at Piazza di San Silvestro where participants will gather at approximately 09:30 (local time).  Additional protests are reportedly set to take place on October 8 and October 10, however, the times and locations have yet to be announced.  

A heightened security presence and localized disruptions are possible in the vicinity of all demonstrations.
