Informational

Event

Jordanian water company Miyahuna has announced that a 24-hour planned water outage will occur in several areas of Amman starting from the morning of Dec. 7. Affected areas include Marj Al Hamam, Al Jandaweel, Umm Al Summaq, Deir Ghbar, Al Bayader, Dabouq, Um Uthaina, and Ash Shumaysani. The disruption is to allow for routine maintenance work. Residents may experience lingering disruptions, such as low-pressure supply, through the afternoon of Dec. 8.

Some business disruptions are possible in the affected areas, especially at companies that rely heavily on municipal water to maintain operations.

Advice

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
