Trigana Air (IL) cargo plane skids off runway during emergency landing at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP) in Jakarta, Indonesia, March 20.

Warning

Event

A Trigana Air Service (IL) Boeing 737-400 cargo plane has veered off the runway at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP) during an emergency landing the afternoon of March 20. Reports indicate the aircraft took off from HLP for Makassar earlier before turning back due to engine problems. There have been no reports of injuries.

The runway is closed for recovery operations. Authorities have diverted all flights to Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK). Flight disruptions are likely in the coming hours. Lingering delays will probably continue after flights resume as airlines work to clear backlogs.

Advice

Reconfirm flights at HLP through at least March 20 before departing for the airport.
