Greenland: Authorities in Greenland allow limited flights to resume from May 3 following COVID-19-related suspension /update 9

Greenland allows limited flights to resume as of May 3. Domestic COVID-19 restrictions remain in place.

Critical

Event

Authorities in Greenland are allowing a limited number of international flights to resume as of May 3 following a COVID-19-related flight suspension. Officials are permitting 600 travelers to enter Greenland per week. However, as of May 3, only flights from Copenhagen are allowed to operate. All arrivals must complete a personal location form prior to entry and produce a negative result from a COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test taken within the previous 72 hours.

All travelers must also self-isolate for 14 days on arrival, though this period may be ended early following a negative COVID-19 test taken no sooner than five days after arrival in Greenland. During the self-isolation period, persons may go for walks, have contact with those they live with, and buy groceries.

Domestic restrictions
Nonessential businesses are permitted to operate provided they implement strict hygiene and social distancing requirements. Facemasks are mandatory in enclosed public spaces and outdoor public spaces where social distancing of 2 meters (6.5 feet) cannot be maintained.

Any restrictions may be extended or amended with little-to-no advance notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
