An Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) cargo vessel collided with two cranes at Pier 70 at the Port of Kaohsiung at approximately 11:00 June 3. The accident caused the cranes and several containers to collapse. The debris trapped two workers, whom authorities have since freed, and injured one person.

Authorities may close some roads near the incident scene. Localized disruptions will probably continue until crews clear debris from the area and officials complete an investigation into the incident. Shipping delays are possible in the coming days at Pier 70, though authorities will likely attempt to reroute cargo traffic to other piers.
