Iranian-backed militias have reportedly targeted US coalition forces at a military base at the Al-Omar oil field in Deir Ez-Zur Governorate late July 4. The attack was allegedly carried out with rocket-propelled grenades and is the second incident to occur at the Al-Omar oil field the past week following shelling June 28. There have been no initial reports of casualties.

Increased security is likely at the base. Airstrikes, retaliatory actions, and further attacks are possible over the coming days.
