The opposition Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) plans to hold a rally outside its head office, located on Boduthakurufaanu Magu in Male, from 16:00 Nov. 5. The purpose of the action is to oppose Indian military presence in the Maldives. Several dozen to a few hundred people will likely participate in the gathering.

Security personnel will likely monitor the protest and may try to break up the rally if it is especially disruptive. Localized transport disruptions are possible near the demonstration site. Clashes between police and protesters may occur, especially if security forces forcibly attempt to disperse the rally. Police may arrest demonstrators at the gathering.
