Protests are likely nationwide in the US in the coming days following the Nov. 19 verdict in a high-profile court case. Clashes possible.
Event
Protests in response to the Nov. 19 acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse, an individual who fatally shot two people and injured another during a 2020 protest, have been scheduled in several areas Nov. 20 and 21. Some selected events have been included below.
Chicago, Illinois: Federal Plaza from 14:00 Nov. 20.
Dallas, Texas: Belo Garden Park from 14:00 Nov. 20.
Jacksonville, Florida: Federal Courthouse from 15:00 Nov. 20.
Los Angeles, California: Pan Pacific Park from 14:00 Nov. 20.
San Diego, California: Fairmount and University from 17:00 Nov. 20.
St. Petersburg, Florida: City Hall from 12:00 Nov. 20.
Tallahassee, Florida: Historic Capitol from 12:00 Nov. 20.
Tampa Bay, Florida: 22nd Street and Hillsborough from 15:00 Nov. 21

In addition to the events listed above, additional protests are likely to be announced in due course. Events are likely near government buildings, city centers, and public parks. Dozens to a few hundred people may participate at related events. Protests are also likely in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where the trial of Rittenhouse was held. Violent incidents, including looting, vandalism, and clashes between police and protesters or with counter-protesters, cannot be completely ruled out. Violence occurred near a related protest near the Multnomah County Justice Center in Portland, Oregon, overnight Nov. 19/20. Localized ground travel disruptions are likely near all protest sites. Should unrest escalate to significant violence, police could implement road closures or other movement restrictive measures.
