New Zealand, Australia: Air New Zealand cancels flights between Australia and New Zealand through Dec. 31

Air New Zealand will cancel over 1000 flights between New Zealand and Australia through Dec. 31 amid uncertainty over quarantine-free travel between the two countries. The airline estimates that the cancellations will affect around 20,000 travelers. Air New Zealand's flight schedule beyond Dec. 31 remains in place until further notice.

Additional extensions on border restrictions between Australia and New Zealand may prompt further flight cancellations on Air New Zealand and possibly other airlines.
