International Travel Restrictions
France uses a color-coded system to classify countries based on COVID-19 risk and imposes entry restrictions accordingly. As of March 3, the following travel protocol is in place:
All travelers 12 years of age or older arriving in Mayotte must present a negative PCR or antigen test taken no more than 24 hours before departure.
Authorities will only permit unvaccinated travelers to enter with an essential reason for the trip. Such individuals are subject to a test upon arrival and a seven-day self-isolation period.
All travelers from an orange country may be tested upon arrival; they will be required to self-isolate for 10 days if the result is positive.
Unvaccinated travelers leaving Mayotte to mainland France will need to present a negative PCR test result not older than 72 hours or a negative antigen test result taken less than 48 hours before departure. Unvaccinated travelers will also need to justify an essential reason for the trip and will be tested upon arrival.
Authorities could reimpose, extend, ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
