Lebanon: Registration on MOPH PASS platform not required for incoming travelers from March 28 /update 67
Registering on MOPH PASS platform not required for travelers to Lebanon from March 28; limited COVID-19-related controls to remain in place.
Event
Authorities in Lebanon have announced plans to ease the country's COVID-19-related international travel restrictions. From March 28, incoming travelers will no longer be required to register on the MOPH PASS platform. Lebanon's other COVID-19-related domestic measures and international travel restrictions will remain in place until further notice.
Domestic Measures
Individuals must present proof of having received at least one shot of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine or a negative result from a PCR test taken within the previous 48 hours to enter restaurants, hotels, and tourism-sector establishments. Moreover, those who do not meet one of these conditions are subject to a nightly 19:00-06:00 curfew. All establishments are limited to operating at 50 percent capacity. Wearing a facemask is required in all public spaces, including in vehicles unless traveling alone. Taxis and private cars are limited to transporting a maximum of four people, including the driver. Buses may transport up to 50 percent of the vehicle's capacity.
International Travel Restrictions
Until March 28, all individuals traveling to Lebanon, except for children under the age of 12 and members of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), must register on the MOPH PASS platform to obtain an MOPH PASS. To access the MOPH PASS platform, click here.
Individuals who are fully vaccinated and who have received a second or third shot of a COVID-19 vaccine, or a single dose as part of a one-shot COVID-19 vaccine, within the last six months may enter Lebanon without a negative result from a pre-travel COVID-19 test. Additionally, travelers who have left Lebanon and will return to the country within one week are exempt from taking a PCR or rapid antigen test before their return flight to Lebanon.
All other travelers (e.g., unvaccinated travelers), except for children under the age of 12, must have a negative result from either a PCR test taken within 48 hours before departure or a rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours before travel. Individuals traveling with a negative result from a rapid antigen test must have an accompanying quick response (QR) code. Until March 28, travelers should upload their PCR or antigen test results to the MOPH PASS platform; the generated QR code should be presented to authorities upon arrival at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY).
Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
