A technical fault relating to the Nexi digital payments platform is causing disruptions to electronic payments, ATM withdrawals, and electronic funds transfer at point of sale (EFTPOS) services in Italy April 15. Reports indicate customers in many locations cannot use debit and credit cards, especially Intesa San Paulo, Unicredit, Poste Italiane, and Bnl Bnp Paribas customers. Disruptions to Visa and Mastercard services are also being reported. It is unclear when a full restoration of services will occur.
