Police in Washington, DC, are continuing to search for a suspect or suspects in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in the 2900 block of Van Ness Street NW, in the vicinity of the intersection with Connecticut Avenue NW, April 22. At least three people were shot in the incident. Police had not taken anyone into custody as of late afternoon April 22.

Authorities earlier described the situation as an "active threat," advising individuals to avoid the vicinity of the shooting. Officials have urged residents in the Van Ness and Cleveland Park areas to continue to shelter in place. Multiple road closures have been reported around the scene of the shooting as the police response continues, including Connecticut Avenue NW from Porter Street NW to Albemarle Street NW. A family reunification site has been established at the Cleveland Park Library, located at 3310 Connecticut Avenue NW.
