Officials have extended a curfew in several areas of Jodhpur, Rajasthan State, until at least 00:01 May 9, following earlier communal clashes. The curfew applies to areas within 10 of the city's police precincts, including Dev Nagar, Khanda Falsa, Nagori Gate, Pratap Nagar, Pratap Nagar Sadar, Sadar Bazar, Sadar Kotwali, Sardarpura, Soorsagar, and Udai Mandir; the Raikabagh Palace Bus Stand and Raikabagh Railway Station are exempt. Those providing essential services and certain groups, such as students attending examinations, are exempt from the movement controls. The ongoing suspension of mobile internet, mass distribution of messages through services like SMSes and Whatsapp, and social media will continue until further notice.

Clashes between Hindu and Muslim groups initially broke out late May 2 near Jalori Gate in Jodhpur; further violence occurred early May 3. Police have arrested over 200 people due to the clashes.
