Officials in Rwanda have removed the mandatory COVID-19-related mask requirement as of May 14. Other travel and domestic measures remain largely unchanged.
Domestic Measures
Individuals must be fully vaccinated in order to access public places and transportation.
The government requires all business employees to be fully vaccinated.
Nightclubs and bars must close by 02:00.
International Travel Restrictions
All arriving and transiting passengers at Kigali International Airport (KGL) must provide a negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours before departure and complete the Passenger Locator Form (PLF); the test must be uploaded within the PLF.
Arriving travelers and those transiting for more than 12 hours at the airport will be required to take a rapid test at their own cost on arrival.
Departing passengers must provide a negative PCR or rapid test result taken within 72 hours before departure.
All Rwandans departing from Rwanda must be fully vaccinated.
Land borders are open; authorities are conducting random testing of arrivals.
Authorities will review and update the nation's COVID-19 measures after one month.
