Warning

Event

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has called for a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar from 11:00 June 5. The action is to denounce the central government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for a recent uptick in targeted militant killings of Hindus in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. A few hundred activists may join the gathering. Participants may also hold street marches in the vicinity, including to the BJP headquarters along Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg.

Authorities will likely monitor the protest and may try to break up the gathering if it is disruptive. Skirmishes between protesters and police are possible. Protesters may block or march along nearby roadways, causing localized transport disruptions.

Advice

Avoid the protest due to possible skirmishes. If violence breaks out, leave the area immediately. Follow all security personnel instructions. Allow additional travel time near the protest site.
