The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) party has called for a protest at the Sheranwala Bagh park, Gujranwala, from 17:00 June 8. Organizers are denouncing comments by an Indian political party spokesperson on the Muslim Prophet Muhammad. Several dozen people may attend the gathering.

Security forces will likely monitor the protest and may try to disperse the gathering if it is especially disruptive. Skirmishes between protesters and police are possible. Localized transport disruptions may occur if demonstrators attempt to march on or block nearby roadways.

The rally site is approximately 71 km (44 miles) northwest of Lahore city.
