Police have lifted an emergency declaration in Nerang, Queensland, June 9. Authorities arrested both suspects after an 18-hour standoff at around 11:00. Police say both men were wanted on return-to-prison warrants. There were no reports of casualties from the incident.
Officials have also ended an exclusion zone bounded by Riverpark Drive, McLaren Road, Kopwhai Place, and Inverness Street. However, lingering increased security is possible in the coming hours as police complete an investigation into the standoff.
