Syria: Authorities suspend flights at Damascus International Airport through at least June 12

Authorities suspend flights at Damascus International Airport, Syria, through at least June 12. Confirm flights.

Warning

Event

As of June 10, authorities have suspended all flights at Damascus International (DAM) for 48 hours, through at least June 12, following an Israeli airstrike near the facility earlier June 10. Flights are being diverted to Aleppo International Airport (ALP). There are reports of damage to DAM; the airstrikes reportedly targeted weapons depots near DAM.

Flights may take longer than 48 hours to resume, and once they do resume, lingering disruptions are likely while authorities clear the backlog.

Advice

Confirm flights if booked to fly via DAM through at least June 12. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider alternative travel arrangements if necessary.
