Officials in Guangdong Province are maintaining strict COVID-19 curbs in Shenzhen as of July 8. Individuals must continue presenting a negative nucleic acid test result issued within 48 hours or proof of a test taken within 24 hours to enter public transport and indoor premises. Travelers must also present a negative nucleic acid test taken within 48 hours to enter Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (SZX).
As of July 8, arrivals to Shenzhen from high-risk areas must undergo a seven-day facility quarantine and undergo nucleic acid tests on days 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7. Entrants from medium-risk areas must undergo a seven-day home quarantine and take nucleic acid tests on days 1, 4, and 7. Arrivals from regions with high- or medium-risk areas must take nucleic acid tests on days 1 and 3, while individuals entering from regions with COVID cases must take a test within 24 hours upon arrival.
As of July 8, localized lockdown and stay-home measures are in place in multiple locations due to COVID-19 activity. The affected areas are situated in Futian, Luohu, and Nanshan districts. Authorities will restrict travel to and from the affected communities. Security personnel will enforce checkpoints in these areas to ensure compliance with movement restrictions. Officials typically extend measures until one week after the latest date of newly confirmed community cases. Officials will likely carry out several rounds of testing in these locations before easing restrictions.
Officials could impose tighter restrictions if there are new COVID-19 cases. Strict controls, such as stay-at-home orders and closure of nonessential businesses, are possible. The government may impose gathering, business, and travel restrictions in Shenzhen as a precaution if new cases emerge.
