Activists are protesting outside the Israeli Embassy in Amman the evening of Aug. 6. The purpose of the demonstration is to condemn Israeli airstrikes against Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip and to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. Additional demonstrations are likely over the coming days outside other foreign embassies, especially that of the US.

Security forces will almost certainly deploy to monitor any such demonstrations that may materialize. Localized ground travel disruptions are likely near the Israeli Embassy through the evening of Aug. 6. Clashes may break out between security forces and protesters if participants ignore police orders or are overly disruptive.
