Jordan: Activists plan to protest in Amman Aug. 8

Activists plan to protest outside the Professional Associations Complex in Amman from 16:00 Aug. 8. The purpose of the demonstration is to condemn Israeli airstrikes against Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip and to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. Dozens to hundreds of individuals could attend the demonstration.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the Professional Associations Complex through the evening of Aug. 8. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.
